Members of the public are legally entitled to examine the unaudited accounts of the Parish Council during the period for the exercise of public rights. This period begins on Tuesday 14th June, and ends on Monday 25th July. Please contact the Clerk if you wish to see the accounts.

Any person interested has a right to inspect the accounting records of the Parish Council. For the year ended 31 March 2021, these documents will be available on reasonable notice by application to the Clerk, commencing on Monday 28th June 2021 and ending on Friday 6th August 2021.

The Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Monday 21st June on the Green outside the church, starting at 7.00pm.

Because of continuing Covid restrictions, there will not be any guest speakers this year. The Chairman of the Parish Council will give an update, and will then invite questions.

The Parish Council meeting for May will be held on Monday 17th May at 6.30pm, outdoors on Church Green. It will cover essential business only. All other items will be carried forward to the June meeting.

The Parish Council budget for 2021/2022 is £45,185.

The Precept was set at £27,000 at the Parish Council meeting on 11th November, 2020

This is £6,000 lower than the 2020/2021 budget. The Tax Base has reduced this year, from 850.31 to 839.52, but the cost for a Band D property has still been lowered by 17.13%. The details are shown in the documents below.

Following on from the new Covid restrictions, the decision has been taken to cancel the Parish Council meeting due to take place on Monday 14th September.

For the foreseeable future, meetings will be held online, via Zoom.

The period for the inspection of the Parish Council's 2019 - 2020 unaudited accounts will run from Friday 21st August until Friday 2nd October. If you wish to inspect the accounts, please read the list of your rights from the link below, and then contact the Parish Clerk.

The Parish Council's accounts for the year April 2019 to March 2020 are shown below. These accounts have been submitted to the external auditors PKF Littlejohn, but have not yet been audited.

The Parish Council playgrounds have been risk assessed, minor repairs carried out, Covid-19 signage and hand sanitisers have been installed, and the playgrounds are now officially open. NOTE - this does not include the playground at Bourne Way, which does not belong to the Parish Council.

A Parish Council meeting is being held on Monday August 10th outside the Church Centre, starting at 6.00pm

If any member of the public wishes to raise questions at this meeting, please submit them to the Parish Clerk by 5.00pm on Sunday, using the email address clerk@burbage-pc.org.uk, and let the Clerk know if you intend to be at the meeting.

2 metre social distancing will be observed by Parish Council officials and members of the public at this meeting.

Burbage Emergency Plan has been updated to cover the current Covid-19 pandemic. Appendix D relates specifically to this type of emergency.

Wiltshire Council have made an order to alter the width of Footpath 6 over land at Eastcourt Road. The section of the path to be extinguished is a 21 metre by 3.3 metre section running from OS Grid Reference SU 2342 6131 to SU 2344 6131. The remaining footpath will retain a width of 4.7 metres at this section.

The Annual Parish Meeting will be held in Burbage Village Hall on Tuesday 15th May. The doors will open at 6.30pm, and the bar will be available. Various local groups will have display tables, and will have members on hand to give information, and to let you know how to get involved.

The formal part of the meeting begins at 7.30pm, with presentations from the Parish Council and other local organisations.

We're pleased to announce that Miss Joyce Turner joins the Parish Council today as the new Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. Joyce lives in Manningford Bruce and is a qualified accountant with considerable management experience.  She is taking over from Graham Francis who is moving from the area.  The Councillors are looking forward to working with Joyce and would also like to thank Graham and wish him well in his new home.
